Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Manager to lead the development and implementation of our Learning Disability and Autism Outreach Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the operational and performance management of the service, working closely with the Learning Disability Management Team and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement clinical and operational policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Lead and manage a team of clinical staff to ensure the delivery of evidence-based practice and the development of clinical pathways.
  • Ensure the effective management of resources to deliver services that meet the required financial, performance, and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication processes with internal and external stakeholders, including patients, families, and carers.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and treatment, in line with NICE guidelines and national documents.
  • Lead on the development of clinical and organisational care pathways, working closely with clinicians and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure the effective management of risk, including the development and implementation of risk management plans.
  • Participate in Safeguarding Adults and Children to Level 3, as per the Trust policy.
  • Ensure services are compliant with Infection Prevention and Control best practice guidance.
Requirements
  • Professional clinical knowledge acquired through MSc degree or equivalent experience.
  • Specialist training, Management qualification to diploma level or equivalent experience.
  • Current professional registration with an appropriate professional body.
  • BILD accredited physical intervention training or agreement to complete training on successful offer of employment.
  • Experience of NHS or Social Care management or equivalent.
  • Experience in the development, management, and coordination of staff and services.
  • Experience of liaising with other disciplines, agencies, and providers to assess, deliver, and monitor services for clients in inpatient and community settings.
  • Experience of teaching, training, and providing supervision and appraisal.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience of undertaking audits and managing budgets.
  • Project management of proven service development.
