Job Summary
The Specialist Learning Disability Service is a multidisciplinary team consisting of Learning Disability Nurses, Clinical Psychologists, and Support Assistants who provide a range of services for children and adolescents with a diagnosed Learning Disability. Our services include assessment and intervention, consultation, liaison, and training for other agencies.
Main Duties of the Job
- Support the Clinical Lead in supervising staff and trainees within the Pathway as appropriate.
- Take a leadership role in the clinical psychology service within the Specialist Learning Disability Pathway, promoting clinical governance and quality improvement.
- Work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within professional and guidelines as a specialist within Child & Family Health Devon Service Directorate.

Job Responsibilities
As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing direct specialist psychological assessments and interventions for children and young people with a Learning Disability and their families. You will also contribute to quality improvement and service development.
Qualified Clinical Psychologist (or equivalent), eligible for Chartered Clinical Psychologist Status in the British Psychological Society. Broad knowledge of psychological services and of the services in the NHS where psychology is applied to the mental Health needs of children and young people with a Learning Disability.
