LPN General Surgery Specialist

Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Clinic provides support to providers in the delivery of timely, quality patient health care services in a clinic environment. This role requires a team player who can work collaboratively with providers and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides patient care support as delegated by Provider or RN, including administering therapies, scheduling follow-up visits, and providing patient education.
- Rooms patients, manages patient flow, and obtains adequate patient medical information/data, including vital signs and other measurement/indicators.
- Coordinates communication of medical information and confirms information with patients when necessary, and documents per practice policy and standards.
- Assists patients with preparation for physician exams, including providing psycho-emotional support, and assists with procedures as needed.
- Organizes patient flow to ensure efficient movement of patients through the clinic, and provides outbound calls to patients to follow up as directed.
- Accurately and completely charts information in the patient medical record, and may checkout and schedule follow-up visits with provider or appropriate staff before patient leaves.
Requirements
- Associate's or Vocational degree from a Board of Nursing approved LPN program.
- Two years clinic LPN experience preferred.
- Licensed Practical Nurse MN BON or Licensed Practical Nurse Wisconsin (if working in Wisconsin or interacting with Wisconsin patients remotely).
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Allina in-house BLS training.
Physical Demands
- Light Work: Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently.
