Job Overview
The Division of Surgery – BHRUT NHS is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to provide administrative support to the department. The successful candidate will work closely with the Patient Pathway Co-ordinator to ensure the smooth running of administrative processes.
Main Responsibilities
The Administrative Support Specialist will be responsible for:
- Providing administrative support to the department, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and maintaining accurate records.
- Assisting with the coordination of patient pathways, including scheduling appointments and managing patient information.
- Developing and maintaining administrative processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection policies and procedures.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, the candidate will need:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent experience.
- Experience dealing with customer complaints and customer care.
- Audio typing skills of approximately 50 wpm.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
Desirable Criteria
The ideal candidate will also have:
- Knowledge of patient referral to treatment times and experience of monitoring patient pathways.
- Proven experience working in a similar role in a hospital/healthcare setting.
