Job Overview

The Division of Surgery – BHRUT NHS is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Medical Staffing Coordinator. This position plays a vital role in the smooth operation of the trauma and orthopaedics service, and the ideal candidate will possess experience in medical rota co-ordination within an NHS setting.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Acting as the main point of contact for medical rostering for junior doctors and other key stakeholders.
  • Providing administrative support to the General Manager, Service Manager, Clinical Care Group Director, Clinical Director, and Speciality Leads in managing medical staffing.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely information related to medical staff management, including compliance with New Deal requirements, appraisals, and monitoring leave.
  • Working closely with the Clinical Director and General Manager to develop processes to support junior doctors on all issues relating to their employment within BHRUT.
  • Managing and co-ordinating annual and study leave, ensuring that medical locum usage is minimised, and where required, this is anticipated and covered.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree-level standard or equivalent training and experience in medical rota co-ordination within an NHS setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and telephone manner.
  • Ability to manage and resolve complex staffing issues, using own initiative.
