We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Safety Advisor to join our team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Fire Safety Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our patients, staff, and visitors across our eleven hospital sites and various other properties.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough fire risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Provide expert advice on fire safety regulations, codes of practice, and industry standards to ensure compliance across our estate.
- Develop and deliver fire safety training programs for staff, including evacuation procedures, fire warden training, and live fire safety training.
- Collaborate with our Capital Planning Team to ensure that new projects and developments meet fire safety requirements.
- Monitor and report on fire safety performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Liaise with the Fire & Rescue Service and other statutory authorities to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
- Develop and maintain fire safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistency across our organization.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure fire safety standards are met.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and staff on fire safety matters, including responding to fire incidents and investigations.
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent fire safety experience, or successful attendance of a suitable fire safety course at the Fire Safety College.
- Membership of a Professional Institution such as IFE, BRE, FPA, IFSM.
- Health and Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH).
- Specialist knowledge to postgraduate diploma level through short courses or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrate the ability to undertake detailed, suitable and sufficient fire risk assessments with the healthcare sector.
- AutoCAD training qualification and experience with related software.
