Fire Safety Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Advisor to join our team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Fire Safety Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of fire safety across our estate, which includes eleven hospital sites and various other properties.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct fire risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Provide training and education to staff on fire safety procedures and protocols.
- Develop and implement fire safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Collaborate with the Fire & Rescue Service and other statutory authorities to ensure effective fire safety management.
- Monitor and review fire safety training and materials to ensure they are up-to-date and effective.
- Liaise with the Trust's Capital Planning Team to ensure compliance with fire regulations on new projects.
- Produce fire action plans and evacuation procedures to ensure staff and patients are prepared in the event of a fire.
- Investigate fire incidents and report to the Department of Health as required.
- Produce an annual report on fire safety management to ensure transparency and accountability.

Person Specification
Essential
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent fire safety experience.
- Membership of a Professional Institution such as IFE, BRE, FPA, or IFSM.
- Health and Safety qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH).
- Demonstrate the ability to undertake detailed, suitable, and sufficient fire risk assessments in the healthcare sector.
Desirable
- AutoCAD training qualification and experience with related software.
