The role purpose is to assist and support the Group HSE Manager in providing specialist Health, Safety and Environmental advice to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all colleagues, third parties, and visitors to sites.

The key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Providing professional advice to colleagues, sub-contractors, and other third parties on all aspects of HSE issues.
  • Undertaking HSE activities, including audits, inspections, risk assessments, and training, including toolbox talks and delivery of training.
  • Monitoring and reviewing HSE performance in line with statutory requirements.
  • Supporting the development and updating of HSE policies, including local workplace instructions.
  • Supporting the development, implementation, and ongoing review of safety processes and systems of work to ensure compliance with policies and HSE legislation.
  • Supporting the wider team to ensure all company and legislative HSE requirements are included in third-party contracts.
  • Working collaboratively with the Senior Management Team.

The key requirements include:

  • Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Being a chartered member of IOSH.
  • Hold a NEBOSH Certificate.
  • Having experience of carrying out specialist risk assessments.
  • Being able to deliver training and toolbox talks.
  • Having a full UK driving licence and own transport.
  • Having experience of managing relationships with multiple stakeholders and compliance with external protocols and legislative requirements.
