Engineering Manager

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Systems Engineering team in delivering bespoke products for the Defence & Security, Marine, and Maritime sectors. The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering management and systems engineering, with experience in managing multi-disciplined engineering teams and delivering projects to meet customer and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities:- Team Leadership: Manage and integrate multi-disciplined engineering teams, and lead engineering resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Project Delivery: Ensure the successful delivery of projects, including cost, quality, and timeliness management, and resolution of engineering conflicts and integration of activity to meet a coherent and prioritised set of demands.
- Engineering Process Management: Tailor and apply engineering processes, tools, and approaches to develop innovative solutions, and lead and manage engineering staff or business partnerships/sub-contracts.
- Resource Management: Ensure team members are assessed, developed, and aligned with project requirements, and manage engineering resource requirements through the project lifecycle.
- Compliance and Quality: Perform engineering planning, management, and review activities to ensure product compliance, and ensure that all engineering activities are conducted in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Experience: Proven experience in engineering management and systems engineering, with a strong background in managing multi-disciplined engineering teams and delivering projects to meet customer and contractual obligations.
- Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of engineering life cycle management and the Design Review Process, and understanding of how different functional areas interrelate and interact within a contract.
- Leadership: Strong leadership ability to manage a single engineering team, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a STEM subject or a degree in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent experience), and Chartered status (preferably).
