Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Systems Engineering team in delivering bespoke products for the Defence & Security sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and integrating multi-disciplined engineering teams, and leading engineering resources to meet customer and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of engineers to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  2. Project Management: Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
  3. Engineering Process Management: Develop and implement engineering processes, tools, and approaches to ensure the delivery of innovative solutions.
  4. Resource Management: Manage engineering resource requirements, including staff, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  5. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all engineering deliverables meet the required quality standards, and that any issues or defects are identified and resolved promptly.
Requirements:
  1. Experience: Proven experience in engineering management and Systems Engineering, with a strong track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  2. Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of engineering life cycle management, the Design Review Process, and the ability to develop and implement engineering processes and tools.
  3. Leadership: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of engineers to deliver high-quality results.
  4. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications:
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in a STEM subject or a degree in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
  2. Professional Qualifications: Chartered status (preferably).
