About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our Ophthalmology Directorate team as an Assistant Patient Pathway Coordinator. This role requires a proactive and motivated individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and work effectively with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive patient records and clinical details are added onto the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) in a timely manner, adhering to the Trust's Elective Access Policy and Data Quality.
  • Log and book appointments on EPR, ensuring that patients are given appointment dates in accordance with clinical priority and length of wait.
  • Manage and maintain the appointments for booking list on EPR, ensuring that the utilisation of elective outpatient capacity is maximised and patients are kept informed.
  • Proactively monitor all outpatient clinics and highlight over or under booking of clinics to the Patient Pathway Coordinators.
  • Ensure that the patients' 18-week RTT pathway is correct on EPR before undertaking any changes to the patient pathway.

Person Specification

Essential

  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, grades A-C.
  • Good knowledge of patient pathways.
  • Maintains high standards and quality of work.

Desirable

  • Willingness to develop computer technology skills.

Experience and Skills

Essential

  • Experience of using a full range of IT/Patient data systems.
  • Excellent diary maintenance scheduling skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Desirable

  • An understanding of the Trust's Elective Access Policy.

Interpersonal Skills / Communication Skills

  • Accurate data entry, typing and checking skills.
  • Excellent literacy, numeracy and communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Highly diplomatic and professional.
