We are looking for a committed and detail-oriented Student Attendance Coordinator to become a vital member of our educational administrative team. The Attendance Coordinator is essential in tracking and enhancing student attendance, collaborating with students, families, and school personnel to foster consistent attendance and punctuality. This role includes maintaining precise attendance records, executing strategies to tackle attendance challenges, and providing assistance to ensure students regularly attend school.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily attendance logs and keep accurate databases of student attendance, inputting data into the school's information management system.
  • Detect trends in absences, tardiness, or chronic absenteeism and implement effective strategies to address these concerns.
  • Engage with parents/guardians through various communication methods to discuss attendance-related issues and work together on solutions to enhance attendance.
  • Collaborate closely with students, offering guidance, support, and motivation to help them understand the significance of regular attendance.
  • Conduct home visits or family meetings to address attendance challenges, providing support and resources to help overcome barriers to attendance.
  • Partner with school staff, including educators, counselors, and administration, to create and execute initiatives aimed at improving attendance.
  • Keep thorough records of attendance-related communications, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Generate reports and statistics on attendance data for school leadership and relevant stakeholders as needed.
  • Offer support and guidance regarding attendance-related policies and procedures to students, parents, and staff members.
  • Stay updated on relevant legislation, policies, and best practices concerning school attendance.


Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; further education or training in a relevant field is beneficial.
  • Prior experience in a similar position within an educational environment is preferred, showcasing a solid understanding of attendance procedures and interventions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the capability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff members.
  • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach when addressing attendance-related matters.
  • Proficiency in utilizing computer systems, databases, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Awareness of relevant policies, procedures, and legislation related to school attendance and safeguarding.

All pay rates quoted will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role in the future.
