Business Development Manager

At Ecolab, we are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our Global Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) division. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in growing our business in the UK and Ireland, identifying and targeting new opportunities to bring our best-in-class products, programs, and digital food safety platforms to prospects in the fast-food, coffee-chain, and small footprint convenience sectors.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and nurture an opportunity pipeline using SalesForce for opportunity tracking, ensuring timely progress on a weekly basis.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans, targeting prioritized opportunities from no contact to sold, leveraging your expertise in sales and business development.
  • Collaborate with the QSR Europe North regional team and Area Manager to coordinate new business roll-outs, handing over roll-out activities to the field team and ongoing account management to relevant team members.
  • Attend relevant events and build a professional reputation for Ecolab in the sector, showcasing our expertise and value proposition.
  • Work with the QSR Europe Marketing team to utilize sales materials in a professional and compelling way, building a strong online presence.
  • Liaise with other divisions to share opportunities and ensure QSR new business/prospect scope is respected.
  • Provide weekly updates and quarterly reviews, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
  • Degree with seven+ years of experience, preferably in a B2B environment, with a proven track record of sales success.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently, handling multiple tasks with ease.
  • Proven relationship management and consulting skills, with the ability to identify customer needs and develop tailored solutions.
  • Problem-solving ability to determine customer solutions, with a strong understanding of the consumer food industry.
  • Able to clearly identify supporters and key decision makers within a potential customer, directly linking strategy and programs to their needs.
  • Proven negotiation and presentation expertise, with a strong self-motivation and drive for results.
  • Understanding and commitment to customer priorities, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Knowledge of the consumer food industry, with established contacts, is advantageous.
  • Must have well-developed leadership qualities, with an ability to create strong working relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, and SalesForce.
