Key Responsibilities:
As a Community Support Officer, your role will involve:

  • Providing proactive support and intervention for individuals with complex needs to help them avoid returning to homelessness post-hospitalization.
  • Delivering high-quality services to clients in various accommodations, focusing on their overall well-being and support requirements.
  • Crafting personalized support plans and collaborating with different agencies to assist clients in maintaining their quality of life.
  • Offering guidance on a variety of issues, including housing, welfare rights, financial management, and life skills.
  • Serving as the primary contact for case management within accommodations, coordinating solutions for issues such as substance abuse, domestic violence, and mental health challenges.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in supporting vulnerable individuals with complex needs, ideally in a housing or homelessness context.
  • Strong understanding of housing regulations and welfare rights.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A compassionate, non-judgmental approach to assisting individuals in difficult situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with safeguarding and health-related issues.
  • Familiarity with local support services and organizations.
  • Insight into the causes and effects of homelessness.
  • Knowledge of relevant housing and homelessness legislation.
