Postdoctoral Research Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM). As a leading institution in the field of tropical diseases, LSTM offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and develop your skills in biostatistics and epidemiology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct methodological research on the design, analysis, and reporting of clinical trials and observational studies
  • Perform independent statistical analyses on data generated by research projects and assist in communicating the findings in peer-reviewed publications or reports
  • Carry out independent statistical analyses of clinical trials, under the supervision of the senior statistician; generate regular data safety monitoring committee reports and produce statistical reports
  • Advise and assist the research teams on study design and sample size in preparation of grant applications
  • Advise and support non-statistical researchers with regard to basic statistical analyses
  • Lead on the design, implementation, and conduct of clinical trials and epidemiological studies in low-resource settings
  • Write papers for high-impact international journals
Requirements:
  • PhD or equivalent experience in statistics or a related field
  • Experience of statistics in applied research and epidemiological research
  • Knowledge of statistical theory and applications
  • Proven ability to write up and present research results
  • Proficiency in SAS/Stata/R for data management and statistical analysis
  • Meticulous and accurate in all aspects of work
