Overview

A Store Manager at Pet Pros is tasked with delivering exceptional customer service while overseeing the daily operations of the store. This role is pivotal in driving sales and ensuring profitability through effective team management, inventory oversight, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of a Store Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Mastering all staff duties to ensure seamless operations.
  • Training and mentoring team members to provide a welcoming atmosphere for every guest.
  • Fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all employees.
  • Coordinating continuous training sessions for staff on product knowledge and company policies.
  • Building strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Collaborating with the District Manager to create and execute strategies to achieve store objectives.
  • Managing inventory loss, operational expenses, and payroll effectively.
  • Ensuring optimal product presentation and availability across all departments.
  • Training and guiding team members on standard operating procedures and compliance.
  • Conducting regular meetings with management and staff to discuss store performance.
  • Participating in store evaluations with District Manager and other corporate staff.
  • Continuously coaching and assessing team members, while recruiting new talent.
  • Monitoring team performance and providing constructive feedback.
  • Overseeing the hiring, onboarding, and termination processes in accordance with company policies.
  • Evaluating staff performance through quarterly reviews.
  • Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and conducting monthly safety meetings.
  • Safeguarding store merchandise by following established policies and procedures.
  • Performing additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Supervisory Role

This position is responsible for managing all store employees and fostering their development.

Physical Demands

The physical requirements for this role include regular communication, active engagement, and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 45 pounds. The role involves standing, walking, bending, and other physical activities throughout the workday.

Work Environment

This position operates within a retail setting with various merchandise displays.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time role with varying hours, requiring flexibility to work during regular store hours, including weekends and evenings.

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel to other locations for meetings and events may be necessary.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years in retail.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing retail staff.
  • Associate's degree.
