About the Role

We are seeking a talented Communications Officer to join our team at Leicestershire County Council. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality communications and media projects that meet the needs of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and implement communications strategies to achieve our organizational goals.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our brand and messaging, and provide expert advice to colleagues across the organization.
  • Collaborate with our media team to respond to reactive requests from the media, colleagues, and partner organizations in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage and promote our brand across various channels, including social media, to engage with our stakeholders and promote our services.
  • Work closely with our graphic designers to create compelling and effective visual communications that support our brand and messaging.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in communications and media, and apply this knowledge to improve our communications efforts.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in communications, media, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences and contexts.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, and to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and the ability to promote these values in our communications efforts.
