Our mission is to empower over 400,000 young individuals aged 4-25, equipping them with essential life skills and guiding them towards their future.
Role Overview:
As a Community Engagement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the County in realizing its growth objectives. Your focus will be on establishing new groups, supporting existing initiatives, and recruiting adult volunteers by collaborating with local stakeholders and our broader Growth & Communities team.
Your hands-on support will be instrumental in creating new opportunities for young people to engage and in attracting adult volunteers to facilitate their involvement.
Key Qualifications:
- Proven ability to work effectively within a remote team environment.
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills, with the capacity to manage a diverse workload and multiple projects while prioritizing the needs of various stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities:
As our Community Engagement Officer, you will:
- Establish new groups in alignment with the County Growth Strategy, utilizing local insights, collaborating with community volunteers, and contributing to the ongoing enhancement of the Growth Strategy to ensure we meet our objectives and expand Scouting opportunities for young people, particularly in underrepresented areas.
- Recruit new adult volunteers to ensure the long-term sustainability of the County and Groups by identifying opportunities and facilitating their integration into the organization.
- Collaborate with local lead volunteers to assess their current community outreach and identify potential growth opportunities within their regions.
