Position Overview
Located in a central office, the Facilities Operations Manager will oversee the strategic planning, execution, and management of all essential services and related functions. This includes the administration of all scheduled maintenance and urgent repair tasks. You will be responsible for drafting contracts for external service providers for maintenance and facilities management as needed across the portfolio, while also managing the annual budget allocations.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the delivery of Facilities Management services, ensuring high standards are met and identifying areas for continuous improvement.
• Oversee Energy Management and Environmental/Sustainability initiatives as necessary.
• Ensure that service providers maintain comprehensive records for facilities to confirm adherence to operational protocols.
• Manage project timelines and report on project progress to guarantee completion within budget and to achieve desired outcomes.
• Conduct site audits for Policy and Compliance, collaborating with both internal and external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with Life Safety Systems, including Fire Safety Equipment and Detection Systems.
• Maintain compliance with Mechanical and Electrical maintenance requirements, including inspections and environmental regulations.
• Ensure that lifting and access equipment, as well as passenger elevators, meet compliance standards and maintain accurate records.
Required Skills and Experience
• Proven experience as a Facilities Operations Manager.
• Technical expertise in Building Services.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety Workplace Legislation.
• Proficient in Project Management.
• Familiarity with Statutory Compliance requirements.
Demonstrated Abilities
• Strong leadership and management skills that foster inclusivity and accountability across all organizational levels.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the capability to analyze data and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Proactive, motivated, and a team-oriented individual with a hands-on approach.
• Project management certification (Prince2, PMP) or equivalent is desirable.
• IOSH Managing Safely/NEBOSH General Certificate is a plus.
