We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Commercial Operations. This is a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic and growing company, with a diverse portfolio of businesses across retail, hospitality, and property.

Job Summary

The Head of Commercial Operations will be responsible for managing a commercial and residential portfolio, including estate asset management, property occupancy costs, and rent, rates, service charge, planning, remodelling, maintenance, utilities, licensing, and compliance. This role will also involve overseeing a team of property managers responsible for a privately owned residential property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate leasehold and freehold terms for commercial and residential properties
  • Review and negotiate heads of terms for commercial and residential properties
  • Build relationships with landlords, agents, developers, and brand partners
  • Manage and motivate a team of property managers
  • Support staff to ensure tenant satisfaction and a compliant property management service
  • Oversee property maintenance and manage in-house and third-party contractors
  • Lettings and management, including a clear understanding of assured shorthold tenancies
  • Maximise rental income and minimise voids
  • Carry out property inspections and evictions as necessary
  • Ensure properties are well maintained and costs are well controlled

Requirements

  • Degree-level education in a relevant discipline
  • MRICS qualification, experience in acquisitions and planning, or a proven track record in the food and beverage sector would be advantageous
  • A full driving licence and flexibility to travel throughout the UK
  • Experience in negotiation and multi-tasking/project management
  • Highly organised and analytical with excellent communication skills

What We Offer

This is a hybrid role, with 2 days in the office and 3 days in the field or homeworking. We offer a competitive salary of £60-70k per annum, negotiable depending on skills and experience.
