Job Title: Head of Commercial Management

Job Description:

A leading group of airlines is seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Group Head of Engines, to be based in a major European hub. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the spend management of a substantial budget, identifying and executing cost-saving opportunities, and leveraging a robust network of senior contacts within the Engine OEM and MRO supplier market to drive initiatives and achieve strategic targets.

The successful candidate will be accountable for managing high-stakes projects, collaborating with the fleet team to source engines and long-term maintenance contracts, and ensuring robust supplier performance management. Additionally, they will lead a global team of engine procurement and technical experts, focusing on capability development, workload management, and continuity planning.

The Group Head of Engines will be responsible for mitigating supplier risk, protecting the operating companies and the Group from financial, operational, and reputational damage. They will also provide commercial innovation to internal stakeholders through interaction with the supply base, work with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve commercial and contractual disputes, and develop effective working relations with key interfaces across the Group and operating companies.

The ideal candidate will possess an established network across OEMs and MRO suppliers at senior level, with a proven track record of driving commercial success and delivering strategic objectives.
