North Lincolnshire Council is seeking motivated individuals for the position of Auditors and Audit Apprentices within our collaborative Audit and Assurance Team, which operates alongside North East Lincolnshire. In this role, you will be part of a diverse team responsible for conducting independent audits for both councils.
Your Role
As an Audit Apprentice, you will contribute significantly to the execution of the Audit Plan. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the delivery of the annual audit plan through various risk-based audit assignments.
- Providing consultancy support and aiding in the investigation of suspected fraudulent activities.
- Gathering, organizing, and analyzing both financial and non-financial data.
- Conducting interviews with relevant personnel and performing necessary testing to evaluate the effectiveness of key controls.
What We Are Looking For
While prior experience in audit, risk, or finance is not required, we are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- A Level, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, along with 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English and Maths.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in spreadsheet software, preferably Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with good negotiation capabilities, and familiarity with word processing software, preferably Microsoft Word.
- Methodical and systematic work approach, coupled with effective time management skills.
Apprenticeship Details
This apprenticeship is structured as a two-year contract, during which you will work towards obtaining a relevant Level 4 qualification.
