Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Specialty Doctor to join our Paediatrics team at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of paediatric and neonatal care and deliver high-quality outcomes to children in our locality.

The post is available on a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2025. We offer a modern and clean environment for both staff and patients, with a new dedicated Children's Out-Patient department and bespoke ward facilities.

Main Duties
  • Provide a first-class clinical service to patients and families
  • Lead and support junior doctors and medical students in their clinical practice
  • Undertake all work in accordance with the Trust's procedures and policies
  • Conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and the Trust's services plans
  • Provide effective leadership and support to junior trainees and nurse practitioners in assessing and managing patients
  • Participate in consultant-led ward rounds and occasionally lead ward rounds
  • Attend clinics to maintain a high standard of clinical service and care
  • Contribute to the programme of post-graduate activities, medical students, and nursing staff within the department

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Full registration with the GMC at time of appointment
  • Evidence of achievement of ST3 (or its equivalent) competences in Paediatrics at time of application
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • All applicants to have demonstrable skills in written and spoken English
  • Up-to-date APLS/EPLS and NLS
  • Evidence of 4 years (FTE) postgraduate training in the UK (or equivalent training) of which at least 2 years' training must be in relevant specialty or a recognised equivalent training
