We are seeking an experienced healthcare professional to join our multidisciplinary team as a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (TACP). The successful candidate will have a keen interest in community frailty or community practice and will work closely with medical, nursing, and AHP teams in the community and virtual ward setting.

The TACP role is designed to provide a period of training and development, under the supervision of an identified expert clinician, to prepare for progression to an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Band 8A) role. The Trainee will be expected to progress towards achieving all advanced level skills and demonstrate ability to consistently perform those skills at an advanced level.

Main Duties of the Job

The purpose of the role will be to undertake a period of training, under the supervision of an identified expert clinician, to prepare for progression to an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Band 8A) role. The Trainee will be expected to progress towards achieving all advanced level skills and demonstrate ability to consistently perform those skills at an advanced level.

Person SpecificationEducation and Qualifications
  • Registered healthcare professional with either NMC or HCPC with the ability to complete NMP
  • 2:2 Degree in clinical field e.g. nursing, physiotherapy
  • Independent prescriber or willing to work towards
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Teaching and assessing qualification/experience
  • Evidence of masters level study aligned to the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice
  • Proven experience of team / department management and staff clinical supervision
  • Leadership/ management course
Occupational Experience
  • Significant post-registration experience, including experience in a clinical position relevant to the care setting for the ACP role
  • Experience of research and/or audit
  • Experience of teaching to large and small groups
Personal Qualities
  • Enthusiasm for the ACP role- national and local understanding of the role
  • Willingness to undertake the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice
