Junior Audit Associate

About the Role
North Lincolnshire Council is seeking motivated individuals to join our Audit and Assurance Team as Junior Audit Associates. In this position, you will become part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team responsible for conducting independent audits for both North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire Councils. Your contributions will be essential in executing the Audit Plan effectively.

Key Responsibilities
As a Junior Audit Associate, you will:

  • Assist in the execution of the annual audit plan through various risk-based audit assignments.
  • Provide consultancy support and participate in investigations of suspected fraudulent activities.
  • Gather, compile, and analyze both financial and non-financial data.
  • Conduct interviews with relevant personnel to gather insights.
  • Perform necessary testing to evaluate the effectiveness of key controls.

Qualifications
We welcome applicants who possess:

  • A Level, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualifications, along with 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English and Mathematics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in spreadsheet software, preferably Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with effective negotiation capabilities, and familiarity with word processing software, preferably Microsoft Word.
  • The ability to work in a structured and systematic manner, complemented by strong time management skills.

Apprenticeship Details
This apprenticeship is structured as a two-year contract, during which you will work towards obtaining a relevant Level 4 qualification.
