Job Summary

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government is seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Regional Development Coordinator. This role will play a critical part in driving growth and improving lives in the East Midlands region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the local economy, including economic trends and their impact on the area.
  • Lead on briefing material and arranging ministerial and senior official visits to the region.
  • Support government relationships with local authorities, universities, business groups, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with local partners to deliver projects funded by government.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local authorities and other organizations to deliver government programs.
  • Deputize for the Senior Executive Officer (SEO) representing the government at external meetings.
  • Prepare reports on local economies and develop a strong understanding of economic trends and their impact.
  • Draft well-written pieces of correspondence on key issues in the region.
  • Support a range of engagement activities, including developing agendas and arrangements for meetings.
  • Take ownership of important corporate tasks, including coordination of cross-cutting requests and compilation of risk registers.
