What is Uber?

Uber is a flexible earning opportunity that allows you to work on your own schedule. As an Uber driver, you can choose when and how much you want to drive, making it a great alternative to traditional full-time or part-time jobs.

Requirements to Drive:
  • A Valid UK Driver's Licence: You'll need a valid UK driver's licence (EU driver's licence needs to be converted to UK driver's licence before onboarding).
  • A Private Hire Licence: You'll need a private hire licence from a licensing authority such as a council. If you don't have one, we'll help you get started with a personalised Ignition appointment.
  • Be at Least 21 Years of Age: You'll need to be at least 21 years of age to apply for your private hire licence, as required by the UK government.
  • Driver Profile Photo: You'll need to take a driver profile photo at our Greenlight Hub.
  • Complete the EduMe Course: You'll need to complete the EduMe Course, a virtual onboarding course that helps you familiarise with the Uber app and its features.
  • Required Years of Driving Experience: The required years of driving experience will vary depending on the city you're based in.
Additional Information:

If you have previous employment experience in transportation, you might also consider driving with Uber to earn extra money. We welcome drivers who have worked with other peer-to-peer ridesharing or driving networks. Driving with Uber is a great way to supplement your part-time or full-time income.
