Woking & Sam Beare Hospice is excited to present the following opportunity:
Community Palliative Care Associate Nurse Specialist (Development Role)
An exceptional developmental opportunity has emerged at Woking and Sam Beare Hospice for an Associate Nurse Specialist to become part of our dedicated community palliative care team. This team is committed to delivering and enhancing palliative care services for individuals confronting progressive and life-limiting illnesses within our service area.
Our community team comprises Clinical Nurse Specialists, Associate Nurse Specialists, Paramedics, Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, and Specialist Physicians. We collaborate closely with our therapy team, which includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Therapy Assistants. All patients and their caregivers have access to Counseling services and the Wellbeing unit. The hospice also features a 20-bed Inpatient Unit. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to patients' homes are essential.
We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Nurse who prioritizes patient care and has a strong passion for palliative care. Ideally, candidates will possess some experience in oncology, respiratory care, or palliative care, or other transferable skills that can be applied. Excellent communication abilities and the capacity to engage with patients and staff at all levels are crucial.
The hospice is committed to professional development and progression, and this position will facilitate internal pathways for advancement from a Band 6 Associate Nurse Specialist to a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist through a structured developmental program. The team will mentor, invest in, develop, teach, and assist the candidate in achieving all objectives throughout their professional journey.
In exchange for your expertise, you can anticipate joining a compassionate multidisciplinary team within a beautiful hospice setting. Our vision is to empower all individuals with life-limiting conditions to live fully and to enable them to die with dignity and choice.
Full-time (37.5 hours) or part-time (22.5 hours or more) positions will be considered. The role requires participation in a rota covering a 7-day per week service.
Clinical Colleague Feedback:
"In the brief time I have been with the Hospice, I have received tremendous support from my team. It is a challenging environment, and I am constantly learning. However, the supportive and caring team makes it easier. I truly enjoy my role."
Qualifications for a Successful Candidate:
- Evidence of recent professional development and relevant personal growth
- UK Registration
- Disclosure and Barring Service Check
- Supporting Statement for the role
This position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order), necessitating a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any prior criminal convictions.
This role requires the right to work in the UK.
