The Finance Team

The Finance division at Mattel seeks leaders who are ready to make an impact. Each finance professional operates within a global finance framework, engaging with senior management and taking on significant responsibilities to advance their careers. Position Overview

Title: Manager, Franchise Finance

Reports to: Director, Franchise Finance

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and coordinate the external audit processes for various Licensing entities within the Mattel Inc group. Review and authorize monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Handle various responsibilities related to period-end closing. Represent the Franchise finance team in a major initiative aimed at simplifying the existing entity structure. Lead and mentor a team of one direct report while managing audit activities across the broader organization.

Expected Contributions:

Managing and coordinating external audits involves conducting planning discussions, executing initial deliverables, and holding regular meetings with external auditors to ensure alignment with timelines and address any challenges; coordinating audit requests within the Franchise Finance team across multiple locations; reviewing individual statutory financial statements under UK GAAP; ensuring timely completion and filing of signed financial statements. Lead the Franchise finance team in a significant project to streamline the current entity structure, which requires understanding and navigating a complex framework with multiple intercompany interactions, necessitating collaboration across various functional teams (i.e., Franchise finance, Tax, Legal, Business). Review and approve monthly balance sheet reconciliations across various entities and currencies, including royalty creditors, accruals, and intercompany debtor/creditor balances. Responsibilities during period-end closing will include reviewing and approving journal entries in Oracle, analyzing P&L and Balance Sheets, and conducting variance analysis in areas such as revenue, royalty expenses, and aged accounts receivable. Guide direct reports to ensure their professional growth and alignment with the Company's overall objectives. Indirectly oversee other members of the Franchise Finance team, ensuring adequate representation of this group within the Mattel UK office.

Qualifications:

Essential:

ACA/ACCA qualified with a minimum of 3-4 years of post-qualification experience. Experience working with external/internal auditors. Exceptional attention to detail and capability to manage intricate data. Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Desirable:

Experience with complex, multi-entity structures. Knowledge of UK GAAP and prior experience in preparing/reviewing statutory financial statements. Familiarity with Oracle Gold or Oracle Cloud financial systems. Ability to effectively interpret and communicate financial data. Strong relationship management skills with various stakeholders across the organization. Detail-oriented and thorough in approach. Passionate about contributing to Mattel's mission and driving growth in our IP-driven toy business and expanding our entertainment offerings.
