Customs Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Coordinator to join our Logistics Team at ALPI UK Ltd. in Manchester.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating import and export activities, ensuring compliance with HM Revenue & Customs regulations and governing departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate import and export activities, ensuring timely clearance of goods
  • Liaise with customs authorities, customers, and suppliers to address any issues or questions arising from business activities
  • Ensure all HM Revenue & Customs duty liabilities are fulfilled, minimizing costs
  • High volumes of data entry on spreadsheets, including customs entry amendments
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks as instructed by the Line Manager

Requirements:

  • Working experience of exports/imports and customs compliance (desirable but not essential)
  • Knowledge of customs requirements and formalities, particularly in the UK and EU
  • Experience in road transport, logistics, or haulage (desirable but not essential)
  • Working knowledge of the CDS system, both imports and exports
  • Knowledge of transit procedures and ETSF (desirable but not essential)
  • HMRC amendment and reclaim experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft packages, especially MS Excel
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload with attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
