Job Title: Customs Clearance Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Customs Clearance Specialist to join our Logistics Team at ALPI UK Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating import and export activities, ensuring compliance with HM Revenue & Customs regulations and governing departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate import and export activities, ensuring compliance with HM Revenue & Customs regulations and governing departments.

Liaise with customs legal counsel to check export controls and licensing requirements.

Ensure all HM Revenue & Customs duty liabilities are fulfilled, minimizing costs.

Liaise with customers, suppliers, necessary agents, and customs authorities to address any issues or questions arising from business activities.

High volumes of data entry on spreadsheets.

Making customs entry amendment requests to HMRC.

Requirements:

Working experience of exports/imports & customs compliance and regulations (desirable but not essential).

Knowledge of customs requirements and formalities with particular focus on UK & EU imports.

Experience in road transport, logistics, or haulage (desirable but not essential).

Working knowledge of the CDS system both imports and exports.

Knowledge of transit procedures and ETSF (desirable but not essential).

HMRC amendment and reclaim experience.

Proficient with Microsoft packages, especially MS Excel and other MS packages.

Must be able to prioritize and organize own workload with attention to detail.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Must be flexible with their working hours – occasional weekend work may be required, based on volume.
