Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Respiratory Physician to join our team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our respiratory medicine services.

Main Responsibilities
  • To provide expert care to patients with respiratory conditions, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of chronic diseases.
  • To work closely with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • To participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
  • To contribute to the development of our respiratory medicine services, including the design and implementation of new programs and initiatives.
Requirements
  • MRCP (UK) or an equivalent qualification.
  • SCE in respiratory medicine.
  • GMC Registration.
  • Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register for both Respiratory and General Internal Medicine via one of the following: a) Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) b) Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
  • Satisfactory training in and General Internal Medicine.
  • Involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate education.
  • Wide knowledge of Respiratory and General Internal Medicine. Able to give expert opinion.
  • Independent Bronchoscopy and pleural skills including ultrasound.
