Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Medicine Specialist to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. As a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading our respiratory services.

Main Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Medicine Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert clinical care to patients with respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, and lung cancer.
  • Leading and managing our respiratory services, including developing and implementing treatment plans and protocols.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Participating in education and training programs to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in respiratory medicine.
  • Conducting research and audits to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • MRCP (UK) or an equivalent qualification.
  • SCE in respiratory medicine.
  • GMC Registration.
  • Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register for both Respiratory and General Internal Medicine via one of the following: a) Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) b) Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
  • Satisfactory training in and General Internal Medicine.
  • Involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate education.
  • Wide knowledge of Respiratory and General Internal Medicine. Able to give expert opinion.
  • Independent Bronchoscopy and pleural skills including ultrasound.
  • EBUS or thoracoscopy.
