About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Bidwells for a fixed-term contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infrastructure management and a passion for delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain all aspects of on-prem and cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance.
  • Support and oversee all aspects of infrastructure operations across all sites, providing technical expertise and guidance as needed.
  • Provide technical support through Incident, Change & Problem Management procedures, ensuring prompt resolution of issues and minimal downtime.
  • Maintain the operation of system environments, including upgrades of platforms, OS, and infrastructure, to ensure compatibility and efficiency.
  • Administer existing outsourced VMware and cloud infrastructure, ensuring secure and reliable operation.
  • Manage storage capacity, retention, backups, and recovery, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Manage the Citrix estate, ensuring secure and efficient access to resources.
  • Patch management for desktops, servers, networking equipment, and all other hardware, ensuring security and compliance.
  • Infrastructure administration activities for Active-Directory, M365, Exchange, SCCM, ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance.
  • Undertake proactive, scheduled maintenance work and upgrades, improving infrastructure efficiency and reliability.
  • Support 1st and 2nd line service desk colleagues with escalated tickets, providing technical expertise and guidance as needed.
  • Undertake project work, including design and service improvement work, to enhance infrastructure capabilities and efficiency.
  • Other duties as designated by the Senior IT Management Team, ensuring alignment with business objectives and priorities.
  • Work with the Information Security Team to ensure all infrastructure is secure and protected, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
About You
  • Solid problem-solving skills, with proficient attention to detail, to ensure accurate and efficient issue resolution.
  • Windows Server 2012 through to 2022, with experience in virtualization, VMware, or Hyper-V.
  • HP & Aruba Network Switch Patching, Management, and Configuration, with a strong understanding of network infrastructure.
  • Confident in fault diagnosis across technologies and platforms, with experience of rectifying faults within established SLAs.
  • Experience operating in a change control and configuration management environment, with a strong understanding of ITIL principles.
  • Ability to competently act as the technical point of contact for escalation, providing expert guidance and support as needed.
