Reporting to the Culinary Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the deputy to the Culinary Manager, overseeing all aspects of food service within the establishment and ensuring a high-quality dining experience.
  • Leading the kitchen staff during shifts.
  • Ensuring adherence to food safety regulations and health & safety protocols.
  • Minimizing food waste during meal preparation and utilizing kitchen equipment appropriately.

Essential qualifications & experience:

  • Intermediate or level 3 food hygiene certification with Cater craft or an equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of health & safety laws, including the management of hazardous substances (COSHH) and food safety standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in culinary and personnel management.
  • Basic understanding of dietary needs for elderly individuals.
  • Proficient in the safe operation of kitchen tools, including knives.

Key competencies:

  • Capable of negotiating, influencing, organizing time effectively, and prioritizing tasks.
  • Able to thrive in a high-pressure environment and prepare meals according to established menus.
  • Adaptable, creative, and able to collaborate as part of a team or work independently.
