This role is for a temporary assignment with Grafton Recruitment, seeking a skilled Transport Operations Coordinator to support our client in the public sector.

The Transport Operations Coordinator will oversee the scheduling and management of transport services, ensuring efficient use of ambulance resources on a daily basis.

The successful candidate will prioritize the timely transportation of patients utilizing the client’s services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organizing transport schedules for upcoming dates.
  • Managing the allocation of ambulance resources, including Volunteer Car Service Drivers, for daily operations and adjusting schedules as needed.
  • Facilitating communication between hospital personnel, communication centers, transport offices, and ambulance teams to guarantee effective patient transport while adhering to service agreements.
  • Inputting transport requests into the operational system.
  • Coordinating resources to ensure prompt patient returns home.
  • Providing support to Ambulance Car Service Drivers with any inquiries or issues, and collaborating with the Operations Resource Coordinator.
  • Generating daily schedules for ambulance and car drivers from the system and ensuring proper distribution of tasks.
  • Maintaining accurate records of patient arrival and departure times at healthcare facilities.
  • Addressing inquiries and concerns from hospitals and patients regarding transport services.
  • Assisting in the evaluation of service agreements and working with the Customer Service Manager to enhance patient transport services.
  • Keeping updated on service level agreements.
  • Performing front-of-house duties as a patient liaison.
  • Supporting the Quality and Complaints Manager for Non-Emergency Services.
  • Ensuring compliance with documentation standards and assisting in audit processes.
  • Training new team members.
  • Overseeing leave requests and managing attendance for Patient Liaison Assistants.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Basic education equivalent to GCSE in Mathematics and English.
  • Prior experience in a Patient Transport Assistant role or similar public-facing position.
  • Ability to maintain composure in challenging situations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check.
