Location: Stevenage

Hourly Pay Rate:

Monday to Friday (between 06:00 and 20:00) - £11.67

Evenings (between 20:00 and 06:00) - £15.75

Sundays and Bank Holidays - £19.72

Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday to Sunday between 06:00 and 22:00)

Shifts: 10 or 12 hours

Contract Length: Until 30/09/2024

Requirements:

  • Must hold a Standard DBS
  • Good basic education to GCSE standard or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Previous experience in the grade of Patient Transport Assistant and/or experience of dealing with the public
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult or stressful situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and coordination of transport services
  • Control of ambulance services' resources, including Volunteer Car Service Drivers
  • Liaising with hospital staff, communications centres, transport offices, and ambulance crews
  • Entering transport requests into the computer system
  • Managing resources to ensure patients are returned home promptly
  • Assisting Ambulance Car Service Drivers with any problems or queries
  • Printing ambulance and car driver planned schedules
  • Keeping records of all patient arrival and departure times
  • Dealing with enquiries and complaints from designated hospitals and patients
  • Assisting in the monitoring analysis of the service level agreement
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of service level agreements
  • Undertaking 'front of house' responsibilities as patient liaison
  • Assisting the Non-Emergency Services Quality and Complaints Manager
  • Ensuring that all documentation is completed in accordance with the ISO 9001 / 2000 standard
  • Undertaking the training of new staff
  • Managing leave requests and absence management for Patient Liaison Assistants
