About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Integrated Community Stroke Rehabilitation Service (ICSRS) team at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide early rehabilitation for stroke patients, setting goals and treatment plans to be followed by the interdisciplinary team.
  • Promote a seamless transition from the acute hospital to the home environment, while continuing to work towards patients' rehabilitation goals in their own home or normal place of residence.
  • Develop and sustain good working relationships with colleagues and peers, demonstrating an empathetic approach and being responsive to patients' needs.
  • Manage workload and work unsupervised, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
Requirements
  • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office solutions and Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems
  • Current driving license and use of car for work
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Clinical Educator course
  • Relevant stroke training
  • NHS experience, particularly in acute and community settings
  • Experience working in the community and with stroke patients
