About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor to join our team at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality occupational therapy services to adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive and quality occupational therapy services to adults and their carers in the areas of learning disability and/or mental health.
  • Contribute towards promoting recovery, maximising service users' independence, and maintaining optimum levels of functional skills in a predominantly acute inpatient setting.
  • Work collaboratively with the occupational therapist and wider multidisciplinary team to enhance the lives of those we care for.
  • Develop and implement individualised occupational therapy plans to meet the unique needs of service users.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of occupational therapy interventions and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level III or equivalent in a relevant subject area, with experience in a healthcare setting or 3 years' experience in an occupational therapy setting and willingness to work towards a Fundamentals of Care certificate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Co-ordination and organisational skills.
  • Basic risk assessment and risk management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Basic understanding of issues affecting people with mental health problems.
  • Basic awareness of issues affecting health and social care.
