Job Title: Workshop Operations Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Operations Manager to join our team at Group 1 Automotive. As a Workshop Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our workshop, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Long-term Planning: Identify and implement long-term planning strategies for future training activities for workshop colleagues.
  • Warranty Repairs: Carry out warranty repairs as directed, returning displaced material to the correct location and in the correct condition.
  • Resource Planning: Compile and maintain a resource plan for the workshop, developing concepts and measures for load optimization.
  • Facilities Management: Ensure that planning for facilities, bays, machines, tools, diagnosis installations, etc. is carried out correctly, and optimal design of workplaces and processes.
  • Employee Management: Employ new staff, develop an induction plan, manage, coach, and motivate employees to ensure a high quality of employees.
  • Performance Monitoring: Define target agreements with employees, review the level of target achievement through regular 1-2-1's, and monitor and optimize productivity and performance of employees.
  • Job Time Planning: Ensure that job time planning and task allocation for the workshop is carried out correctly.
  • Compliance: Monitor compliance with all statutory regulations and ensure quality control of all completed tasks.

Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence: A valid full UK driving licence is required.
  • Motor Industry Experience: Motor industry experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication skills.
  • Time Management: Ability to work to timescales effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering great customer service.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong industry knowledge and experience in a main dealer environment.
  • Pressure Management: Ability to work under pressure.
