Job Title: Hawk Bays Manager

Salary: £61,110+

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensuring the effective management of maintenance activities by setting delivery targets, monitoring progress and developing performance improvement programmes. Responsible for: management reviews; the assessment of escalated issues for impact on Continuing Airworthiness and generating effective resolution, or sponsoring escalation to senior management, as appropriate
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are appropriately documented and the appropriate airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems whilst leading the integration of maintenance activity within the business and in particular the engagement of key stakeholders at all stages of the process
  • Supporting the Head of Aircraft Maintenance's in ensuring that compliance with the MAI Maintenance Organisation Exposition, its associated procedures and standards, and any other company procedures and standards, as applicable, driving and implementing change as required
  • Leading the application of Human Factors, Error Management, Risk Management and Safety Assurance within Maintenance, together with the proactive analysis, mitigation and management of Hazards
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are compliant with the AM&S Governance and Assurance framework, managing audit findings in a timely and appropriate manner and providing information into the relevant reviews. Generate, deliver and implement effective improvements to overcome any non-compliance and monitor effectiveness

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • Recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship in industry/military or similar qualification in aircraft systems engineering
  • Experience within maintenance/operations within military/commercial aviation organisation
  • Proven experience in a management position within a large and fast paced organisation
  • Knowledge of maintenance and/or airworthiness practices

Desirable:

  • Background within Fast Jet/military organisation - preferably Hawk
  • An understanding of RAF engineering operating procedures
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards professional accreditation

The Bay Support Services team:

As the Bay Manager, you will be the delegated Maintenance Authority responsible for all maintenance aspects of products and/ or services provided, liaising with all appropriate areas to ensure compliance with the relevant airworthiness and maintenance requirements for customer contracts and Aircraft Maintenance and Support (AM&S) Function.

This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to lead a team of Engineers and supporting staff to deliver support to the Hawk 128, The Red Arrows and support to the Station at RAF Valley.
