About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Company Secretary to join our team at Broster Buchanan Ltd. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective governance and compliance of our company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Board and Committee Support: Compile and distribute agendas, papers, and minutes in a timely manner, ensuring the completion of actions and maintaining essential governance documents.
  • Executive Support: Provide secretarial and operational assistance to senior leaders, including managing tasks such as timesheet sign-off and ensuring the smooth operation of meetings.
  • Meeting and Planning: Ensure forward planning of Board and Committee meetings, including development days, to ensure effective use of time and resources.
  • Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Maintain corporate records, file returns with relevant authorities, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Communication Facilitation: Act as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries, managing complaints, and facilitating communication.
  • Policy Management: Oversee corporate policies, the Document Library, and assurance/governance processes to ensure consistency and compliance.

Requirements
  • Qualifications: A good honours degree in a relevant field, such as accountancy and finance, business and management, or law, or equivalent experience.
  • Professional Qualifications: A recognized professional qualification in company secretarial practice or a relevant field, and/or a willingness to undertake a qualification.
  • Experience: Significant experience in a similar role within a public sector organization or a regulated environment.
  • Skills: Excellent written communication skills, experience of producing high-quality minutes and reports, and the ability to work well with people at all levels.
  • Personal Qualities: A diplomatic approach, the confidence to provide support to senior leaders, and the ability to work with numerical information and analytical skills.
