The Role

We are supporting schools throughout Essex by providing staff on an as-needed basis. We require experienced Food Services Managers who can step in on a temporary basis. Ideal candidates will have a background in food service management, though experience in a school environment is not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that food preparation and presentation methods adhere to recognized catering standards and food safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen environment.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and equipment.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills while managing the food services team professionally.
  • Deliver high-quality meal services while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and hygiene standards.
  • Regularly review and implement menu cycles, promoting themed meal days.
  • Adhere to the financial regulations set forth by the educational institution throughout the catering operations.

Required Experience:

  • Meal planning that aligns with nutritional guidelines and accommodates various dietary restrictions.
  • Maintaining food temperature logs and monitoring food safety practices.
  • Managing daily sanitation checklists.
  • Implementing allergen management and cross-contamination prevention strategies.
  • Menu development and regulatory compliance.
  • Understanding of health and safety standards in food hygiene.
