The Role

We are assisting schools across Essex with staffing needs, requiring experienced Food Services Managers to work on an as-needed basis. Candidates should ideally possess experience in a supervisory role within food services, although prior experience in an educational setting is not mandatory.

Are you a dedicated and experienced Food Services Manager seeking an opportunity to contribute positively to the education sector? We are looking for a Food Services Manager to prepare nutritious and appealing meals for our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that food preparation and presentation methods adhere to recognized catering standards and food safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen environment.
  • Oversee the procurement of supplies and equipment while managing inventory effectively.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and lead the food services team professionally.
  • Deliver high-quality meal services while ensuring cost-effective practices.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and hygiene standards.
  • Regularly review and update menu offerings, promoting themed meal days.
  • Ensure adherence to all financial regulations applicable to the food services operation.

Required Experience:

  • Planning meals in accordance with nutritional guidelines and accommodating various dietary restrictions.
  • Maintaining food temperature logs and monitoring compliance.
  • Implementing daily cleaning protocols.
  • Managing cross-contamination and allergen safety.
  • Menu development and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Understanding health and safety regulations in food hygiene.
