Job Summary:

i-Jobs is seeking a highly experienced and skilled HR Operations Manager to lead and manage our HR Operations team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving the delivery of our Workforce Strategy, ensuring that both the Council and Schools have the right people with the right skills in the right places.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the HR Operations team: Provide expert direction and strategic business partnering for the Council and Schools, ensuring the delivery of key priorities and services.
  2. Operational HR support: Oversee the operational HR support to schools utilising the HR School's Consultancy service, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  3. Strategic HR advice: Provide strategic HR operational advice to leadership teams within the Council and Schools to align with their strategic priorities.
  4. Service redesign: Offer guidance on service redesign, restructuring, and senior recruitment, driving effective organisational change.
  5. Workforce planning: Lead the development of service workforce plans and operational action plans to address performance and capacity issues.
  6. Partnership and joint working: Enhance partnership and joint working arrangements, conducting assessments and audits to improve service delivery and realise financial savings.
  7. Employee relations: Lead consultations and negotiations with Trade Unions on HR Operations matters, ensuring effective employee relations.
  8. Complex HR cases: Provide oversight on complex HR cases, ensuring legal compliance and fair management of employee relations.
  9. Income generation: Develop and implement plans for income generation across the HR service, maximising resources and securing savings.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Degree-level education or equivalent.
  2. Professional qualifications: MCIPD (Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development).
  3. Experience: Extensive experience in HR, including strategic and corporate-level work, business partnering, and managing a team of specialists.
  4. Skills: Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, with a solid understanding of HR legislation and financial management.
