Haematology Specialty Doctor

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Microbiologist to join our team at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. As a Clinical Microbiologist, you will play a key role in providing a clinical microbiology service, working alongside consultant colleagues to contribute to the provision of high-quality patient care.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in microbiology, virology, and mycology, with experience in clinical specialties where there is a significant component of infection. You will be able to demonstrate laboratory skills related to these areas and have a good understanding of clinical research and development.
Key Responsibilities- Authorise and liaise laboratory results
- Provide clinical microbiology and virology advice to clinical colleagues
- Communicate effectively as part of good teamwork
- Liaise with laboratory, infection control, antimicrobial pharmacy, occupational health colleagues in our trust as well as external primary care, regional infection and public health colleagues
- Regular MDT participation in areas such as ICU, burns, infective endocarditis, haematology, orthopaedics and OPAT services
- Working on our Wakefield Pinderfields hospital site during weekday working hours
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- FRCPath part 1
- FRCPath part 1 and 2
- MRCP
