Job Title: Lighting Artist

Climax Studios, a renowned digital experience developer, is seeking an experienced Lighting Artist to join our team. With a rich history of creating innovative experiences, we're looking for a talented individual to contribute to our artistic visuals.

We're a state-of-the-art studio located in the heart of Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth, overlooking the Harbour. Our team is passionate about creating balanced and atmospheric lighting for in-game environments and cinematics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with design and technical art teams to create stunning lighting effects.
  • Enhance game environments and locations through lighting composition.
  • Develop lighting-related visual and post effects.
  • Maintain runtime performance and optimization.
  • Contribute to the project's mood and storytelling through lighting.
Requirements:
  • Experience with Maya.
  • Extensive experience with Unreal 4/5.
  • Proficiency in 2D packages such as Photoshop/Substance.
  • Strong understanding of Shaders and materials.
  • Minimum 2 years of lighting experience on a AAA project.
  • Knowledge of baked and real-time lighting methods.
  • Strong Environment or Tech art background.
  • Creative and self-motivated.
  • Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Artistic education to at least graduate level.
  • Strong folio including realistic modeling and environment examples.
