Lead Artist Opportunity at Freejam

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Artist to join our team at Freejam, the developers of Robocraft and Robocraft 2. As a Lead Artist, you will be responsible for overseeing the art style across our products, from in-game content to promotional and marketing materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a cohesive and attractive art style across the product
  • Manage and mentor a team of artists to ensure they have the necessary skills and resources to produce high-quality art
  • Organize and schedule the art team to meet deadlines and ensure efficient workflow
  • Stay up-to-date with new art tools, techniques, and development practices
  • Effectively profile and optimize art content for framerate efficiency

Requirements:

  • At least one published title or AAA games experience
  • Experience managing and leading a distributed team of artists
  • Proven experience with hard-surface modeling and texturing to AAA standards
  • Experience with environment art, landscape, foliage, and prop asset creation
  • Experience with Unity HDRP lighting, atmospherics, post-processes, PBR materials
  • An understanding of building shaders with node graphs such as Unity Shader Graph
  • Proficiency in Maya, Photoshop, Substance, Illustrator, XD, Speedtree, and ZBrush
  • A keen eye for detail and excellent organization and project planning skills
  • Pro-active team player with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
