About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Community Rehabilitation Team at Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a Community Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality occupational therapy services to patients in the North Cornwall locality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a defined caseload of patients with complex needs within the community setting, using evidence-based practice and occupational therapy principles.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions as an autonomous practitioner, using independence of judgment.
  • Take an active role in the triage of new referrals coming into the team.
  • Lead Occupational Therapy students within the team and provide support to Rotational Band 5 Occupational Therapists and junior staff within the wider Community Rehabilitation team.
  • Participate in the planning and development of community and occupational therapy services, deputizing for the Team Lead as appropriate.

Person Specification
  • Professional qualification - Occupational Therapist
  • Professional Registration - HCPC
  • Evidence of professional knowledge acquired through specialist courses or experience to post-graduate equivalent diploma level
  • Experience of managing complex situations
  • Ability to deliver specialist cognitive assessment and therapy to complex patients
  • Desirable: Experience in leadership and managing a team
