About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Community Rehabilitation Team at Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a Community Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality occupational therapy services to patients in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a defined caseload of patients with complex needs in the community setting, using evidence-based practice and occupational therapy principles.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions as an autonomous practitioner, using independence of judgment.
  • Take an active role in the triage of new referrals to the team.
  • Lead Occupational Therapy students within the team and provide support to Rotational Band 5 Occupational Therapists and junior staff within the wider Community Rehabilitation team.
  • Participate in the planning and development of Community and Occupational Therapy services, deputizing for the Team Lead as appropriate.

Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Professional qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Evidence of professional knowledge acquired through specialist courses or experience to post-graduate equivalent diploma level
  • Experience of managing complex situations and delivering specialist cognitive assessment and therapy to complex patients
  • Desirable: experience in leadership and managing a team
